Parque Central de San Pedro Sula

is the capital of Honduras’ Cortés Department. Situated in the Sula Valley, around 50 kilometers (31 miles) south of Puerto Cortés on the Caribbean Sea, it is the northwest corner of the country. The cathedral of the Diocese of Comayagua is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, often known as the Cathedral of Comayagua, a Catholic temple situated in Comayagua, Honduras. Copán Ruins

Copán was a significant Mayan metropolis that flourished from 250 to 900 AD in what is now the state of Honduras. Like the majority of the other Mayan cities on the Yucatán Peninsula’s lowlands, it peaked in the eighth century but was soon abandoned and began to crumble. Since the mid-1800s, the ruins have been the subject of research, and in 1980, UNESCO designated them as a World Heritage Site. We do not yet completely know what the city’s historical name was.

The mother of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, is referred to as the Virgin of Suyapa, or simply the Virgin. A large pilgrimage is centered around an 18th-century cedar statue of the Virgin, which is arguably the most well-known religious figure in Honduras.A few years after the Pontiff Pius XII named the Virgin of Suyapa the patroness of Honduras in 1925, Monsignor Emilio Morales Roque, the apostolic administrator of the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa, ordered the building of a new cathedral for the Virgin, whose image had also been stolen in 1936.

Cataratas de Pulhapanzak

In the Republic of Honduras, there is a waterfall called Cataratas de Pulhapanzak. Situated in the department of Cortés, next to the little community of San Buenaventura, lies the 43-meter-drop Río Lindo waterfall, which is a popular tourist destination. About 300 meters from the waterfall is a parking lot. Hiking trails through the moist forest lead to caves and archaeological dig sites near the fall.

Celaque National Park

One of the most striking national parks in Honduras is Parque Nacional Celaque, which is home to the lushly forested El Cerro de las Minas, the nation’s highest peak at 2849 meters. Several rivers’ headwaters, a magnificent waterfall that can be seen from the entire valley, and extremely steep slopes, including some sheer cliffs, may all be found in the park. Although they are rarely seen, the park is home to a variety of plants and animals, including quetzals, ocelots, and pumas. Monkeys, reptiles, and butterflies are more frequently seen.
