Ammassalik Fjord
The head of the fjord is formed by the confluence of two narrow, tributary fjords: Qingertivaq Fjord and Tasiilaq Fjord (one of two fjords of that name). The fjord has a north-to-south orientation in its northern part, to then turn midway to the south-west-south at approximately.While the shores of the northern part separate peninsulas of the mainland of Greenland, the southern, progressively wider half of the fjord separates the large Ammassalik Island in the west from islands of the eponymous Ammassalik Archipelago in the east and southeast, including the largest, Apusiaajik Island.

Greenland National Museum in Nuuk has exhibitions that cover all of Greenland’s history during 4.500 years.
From the first Arctic Stone Age Cultures, the Norse settlements, the arrival of the Thule culture – the ancestors to the present Inuit to the gradual transition to modern Greenland.

Church of the Redeemer
The Church of the Redeemer is the most famous church building in the Greenlandic capital Nuuk. The building is a landmark and is located in the colonial harbor, the oldest part of Nuuk. Two brass candlesticks are a gift from the Church of Norway. Inside the church there is a painting by Carl Rasmussen and a marble relief. A little above the church is a statue of Hans Egede. There is a monument to Jonathan Petersen right in front of it.

National Park
Northeast Greenland National Park is the largest national park in the world. It is the only national park in Greenland and covers almost 45% of the island’s area with its 972,000 km².In January 1977 it was declared an international biosphere reserve. To visit the national park, a permit with an SAR mountain insurance and appropriate expedition equipment is required.
Kangertittivaq
The Kangertittivaq is a fjord system in the Greenland Sea on the east coast of Greenland. It has a tree-like structure, the 110 km long main basin of which branches off into several fjords and thus has a total area of 38,000 km². There are numerous islands there. The largest of them, Milne Land, covers an area of 3,913 km² and is located in the middle of the inlet. On the north side of the exit is Ittoqqortoormiit, the only permanently settled town in the area with 472 inhabitants.
Jakobshavn Isbræ
The Jakobshavn Isbræ is an outlet glacier located near the Greenlandic Ilulissat . The glacier represents a considerable part of the Greenland ice mass. Its catchment area comprises about 6.5% of the inland ice. Its ice flows into the Ilulissat Icefjord on the west coast of Greenland. The mass of icebergs that detach from its glacier tongue each year adds up to 35 billion tons; the glacier therefore calves most frequently in the entire northern hemisphere. Individual icebergs can be several kilometers long and up to one kilometer high.
Uunartoq
Uunartoq is an island in southern Greenland known for its thermal springs. It is covered by polar tundra vegetation and is currently uninhabited. The three hot springs are located on the northwest coast of the island about 50 m above sea level. Their temperature is between 31 and 37 ° C.
Gunnbjørns Fjeld
Gunnbjørns Fjeld, at 3694 m the highest mountain in Greenland, is also the highest mountain north of the Arctic Circle. It is located in the Watkins Mountains on the east coast of the island. The mountain is named after Gunnbjørn, a Viking who, according to legend, discovered Greenland around 875.
