Great Blue Hole-Belize Barrier Reef
The Great Blue Hole is almost round, with a diameter of more than 300 meters and a maximum depth of 125 meters. It formed an entrance to an underground cave system that was inundated by the rising sea level at the end of the last glacial epoch, when it emerged from the limestone layers. There is a hydrogen sulfide-containing thermocline at a depth of roughly 90 meters. UNESCO listed the Belize Barrier Reef as part of the world’s endangered natural heritage in June 2009.

Altun Ha
Altun Ha was a Maya city that has collapsed. It is situated ten kilometers west of the Caribbean Sea and roughly 45 kilometers north of Belize City.At Altun Ha, the highest temple is roughly sixteen meters high. A jade head measuring 15 centimeters in height and weighing 4.5 kilograms is one of the most significant discoveries. It symbolizes the sun god K’inich Ajaw.

Xunantunich
