The Cajas National Park is a 28,808 hectare national park in the highlands of Ecuador. The hilly landscape offers tundra vegetation and has around 270 lakes and lagoons. It is located over 30 km west of Cuenca, the capital of the Azuay province. Traces of 96 pre-Inca Kañari villages were also found. The national park offers protection for a wide variety of endemic and endangered animals.

The Cotopaxi National Park was designated on August 11, 1975 as one of the nine national parks of Ecuador. It is located on Cotopaxi, the second highest mountain in Ecuador, which is also the main attraction of the park, and about 40 km south of Quito. Quilotoa is the name of a caldera and the crater lake located in it, at the same time the westernmost volcano in the Ecuadorian Andes.Since then there has been a crater lake up to 250 m deep in the caldera with a green color caused by minerals. La Mitad del Mundo is an equatorial monument in San Antonio de Pichincha in the Ecuadorian province of Pichincha. Las Cascadas de Peguche is one of the main tourist attractions in the Otavalo area, (city that hosts one of the most important indigenous markets in the Andes) and its surroundings. This beautiful 50 ft. (18 m) waterfall is considered as an Indigenous Ceremonial Site due to the purification baths held here a couple days prior the Inti Raymi celebration (Sun and harvest celebration, June 21st). This waterfall originates at the foothills of Imbabura volcano, right at the northern tip of San Pablo Lake located 4 km south of Otavalo at 8,760 ft. (2,670 m). The course of its waters runs downstream by the river of the same name, Peguche, which change its name into Jatun Yacu (big water) right after it tumbles free down the waterfall.
