Essential Tips for Visiting Khao Lak & Phuket Thailand

We were quite impatient at the beginning of 2019 because we were embarking on the journey of a lifetime in a few days. In order to experience the Indian Ocean in Khao Lak, we flew to Thailand after ordering a combination trip with the German company Berge & Meer that included a week-long cruise through Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Khasab, and Muscat. One of our favorite experiences was traveling to Phuket, Thailand, where we were able to witness natural beauties and make wonderful friends. By reading our article, you will learn more about our tale!

Things to do

For this all-inclusive vacation, which included breakfast in Thailand and an all-inclusive cruise, we spent 1400 euros per person. We were always far from the hotel during the day, so it was fine to only have breakfast because food in Thailand is quite inexpensive. The only issue here is that, naturally, trips were not included, so we had to withdraw more funds from our wallets to cover them. We went to James Bond Island on our first vacation. The reason almost every tourist picked this vacation was to see the location where everything was filmed. Our boat brought us to a stunning location after we left the island, where we boarded the kayak. additionally

James Bond Island

The island, currently called Khao Phing Kan, was largely populated by indigenous groups and remained largely unaltered until 1974. After being chosen as a filming site for the 1974 James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun, its level of international fame increased. Francisco Scaramanga, the antagonist of the movie, used the island as the setting for his lair. Following the release of the movie, Khao Phing Kan had a sharp increase in visitors, making it a well-known travel destination. However, there were drawbacks to Khao Phing Kan’s growing popularity, such as a noticeable rise in litter and environmental damage. In 1981, the island was added to the Ao Phang Nga Marine National Park in order to address these issues and protect the ecosystem.

Our tour guides became our friends, so the following day we went to see some of Khao Lak’s most picturesque locations, including White Sand Beach and Bamboo Rafting.

White Sand Beach

Pak Weep is home to the snow-white, powdered sugar beach, which is conveniently close to Coconut Beach. At midday, the White Sand Beach is especially radiant, and you may enjoy the surreal surroundings twice over while sipping a refreshing drink at one of the quaint beach bars. One of Khao Lak’s most stunning beaches, this sandy one is well worth the diversion.

We proceeded in the same manner the following day, seeing several stunning locations that are only known to the locals: Andaman View Point, a fantastic waterfall, some temples, and a fantastic meal by a lake.

Andaman View Point

Finding the vista from Khao Lak is not too difficult. The Sarasin Bridge may be reached in a few of meters from the intersection on the street. The location is clearly marked with signs. A 360-degree panoramic view from the Andaman Viewpoint rewards the traveler for his exertion. The greatest viewing circumstances are in the afternoon, thus an afternoon trip to the Andaman Viewpoint is especially noteworthy. We can now see even more details thanks to the recent installation of a telescope on the tiny viewing platform.

Khao Lak Sai Rung Watterfall

This water feature has two levels, though during the monsoon season, the hillside can erode and make the upper fall inaccessible. There is a parking lot where a car or motorcycle will cost you 20 Baht. To get to the swimming area, just cross a little footbridge and walk a short distance. This is the most striking fall in the Khao Lak area, reaching a height of roughly 15 feet. Weekday mornings are ideal for visiting Khao Lak’s waterfalls because of the lower temperatures. The waterfalls might get a lot of local traffic on weekends.

Maya Bay - Koh Phi Phi Le

Ko Phi Phi Le is the second largest island in the archipelago, larger than Ko Phi Phi Don, at 6.6 square kilometers (2.5 sq mi). The two tiny bays on the island, Loh Samah and Maya Bay, are encircled by a ring of precipitous limestone hills. Because to the coral and shallow seas, it is not possible to reach Maya Bay straight from the sea during low tide. Boats must anchor in Loh Samah Deep, and to get to Maya Bay, one must go through a brief stretch of jungle and rocks. Pi Ley is a sizable shallow inlet that resembles a fjord and has a little coral reef at its entrance. Bioluminescent plankton can be seen at Maya Bay.

Monkeys Island

Situated on a peninsula on Koh Phi Phi Don, the bigger of the two main Phi Phi Islands, Monkey Island in Phuket is a little cove. This peninsula contributes to Ton Sai Bay, where the great majority of boats that arrive and go from the crowded Phi Phi tourism region load and unload their passengers.

Monkey Island Thailand

Bamboo Island

The bamboo island is about 650 meters long and 500 meters wide, and it resembles a gulf. The island has a beautiful white sand beach all around it and is well-known for Schnorchel and Tauchausflüges, especially from Koh Phi Phi. The main way that Bamboo Island is connected to Krabi’s tourist attractions is through a speedboat tour. This is because the distance between the longtailboote and its drivers seems a bit too great, and they are already willing to spend a good hour on the boat. With the speedboat, a person from Ao Nang or Railay may arrive there in about fifteen minutes and take advantage of the pre-existing reefs for a swim or just relax for a while on the beach and enjoy the sun.

RangYai Island

The largest island up for sale in the area is Rangyai, which is situated directly east of Phuket, a popular island among vacationers and real estate investors. The island is next to two popular tourist destinations, Phuket and Coconut Island, both of which has a large number of resorts. The property’s favorable location on Ranyai Island enables the potential buyer to take full benefit of the property’s development potential.

The following day, we went to the Night Market and explored Khao Lak on scooters with our pals. We purchased clothing and trinkets for ourselves and our loved ones, and we sampled food prepared by the natives. We had a great time spending our final day at Sairung Elephant Camp with the elephants. We rode, cleaned, and fed the elephants on a glorious day. A memorable encounter!
