Victoria Peak

Victoria Peak, also referred to as The Peak, is a must-see location in Hong Kong, both during the day and at night. It provides famous views of the Kowloon peninsula, rugged mountain peaks, and Victoria Harbour, which is bordered by skyscrapers. Instagram enthusiasts frequently come here at dusk to take breathtaking pictures of the city’s illuminated skyline, or they may take leisurely hikes along the tree-lined Peak Circle Walk and take pictures of the area’s abundant wildlife and ancient structures. The Peak is easily accessible by bus or taxi and is only a short drive from the downtown business district.

Peak Tram

The peak is considered a particularly spectacular attraction in Hong Kong – but the journey there is also an experience. The Peak Tram opened in 1888 for the exclusive use of the British Governor and the residents of the Peak, today the extremely steep funicular is open to all. The journey takes around 8-10 minutes and is a visual experience not to be missed, not least because the skyscrapers glide past each other at seemingly impossible angles as the tram makes its ascent.

Shek O Beach

On Hong Kong Island’s southeast tip sits Shek O. It is well-known for its white sand beaches and excellent shallow water with soft waves that go far out into the ocean, making it safe to play with your children or dogs in the water or simply stand in it with a drink. Shek O offers sufficient facilities including bathrooms and changing rooms, plenty of eateries both on the beach and just outside as I’ll describe later, and even a grill area that can be booked for the day .

Clock Tower

One of Hong Kong’s landmarks is the Clock Tower. The 44 m high old clock tower was built in 1915 as part of the Kowloon-Canton Railway terminus at Tsim Sha Tsui. The once-bustling train station is long gone, but this red brick and granite tower, now listed, serves as a beautiful reminder of the age of the steam engine. It was a memorable landmark for millions of Chinese immigrants who passed through the station to start a new life not only in Hong Kong but also in other parts of the world via the city’s harbor.

  1. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is needed to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet savvy so I’m not 100 certain. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
