We made the decision to travel to Asia in September 2019 and discovered a fantastic deal at Lidl Holidays. Things to do
We left Cambodia for Bangkok, and it was impressive that we made it to our five-star hotel after a long bus ride and lengthy line at the border. We were in excellent conditions at the hotels, as I mentioned.We had trips included in Vietnam and Cambodia, but we had three days to ourselves in Bangkok with no visits included. As usual, we made every effort to see as much as we could.
On our first day, we rode the taxi outside the hotel to Siam Park, an outdoor water and amusement park. The taxi fare was fairly reasonable, but when we got back, we kind of regretted making the trip because the taxi drivers from the park demanded outrageous fees when they found out we were staying at a five-star hotel. We were fortunate to have a Thai woman assist us in obtaining a somewhat reasonable pricing. To ensure that you have no issues, we advise you to choose this tour that includes transportation. Our recollections from Siam Park are as follows:
Siam Park
Siam Amazing Park (Thai: สยามอะเมซิ่งพาร์ค), sometimes referred to as Suansiam (สวนยาม, RTGS: Suan Sayam, pronounced [sɔa̯n sā.jɎːm]), is a water park and amusement park situated in Bangkok, Thailand’s Khan Na Yao area. Having been established in November 1980, it continues to be Southeast Asia’s oldest complex of amusements and water parks. Situated close to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, it offers attractions like the first suspended looping coaster with five inversions in Southeast Asia, a spacious wave pool, and seven-story slides.

The Grand Palace
The Mansion Grandeur A collection of structures known as Phra Borom Maha Ratcha Wang, or “The Supreme Grand Palace,” is located in the center of Bangkok, Thailand. Up until 1925, the royal government, the monarch, and his court were housed on the palace grounds. Although King Vajiralongkorn (Rama X) stays at the Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall in the Dusit Palace and his predecessor King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) resides at the Chitralada Royal Villa, the Grand Palace is still utilized for official functions. Every year, a number of state events and royal rituals take place inside the palace’s walls. Among the most visited sites by tourists is the palace.

Wat Saket
Bangkok’s Wat Saket Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan is among the city’s oldest Buddhist temples. The Pom Prap Sattru Phai District is where it is situated. A Royal Temple of the Second Class is Wat Saket. There are 318 stairs that lead to a man-made hill, standing 79 meters tall and capped with a golden chedi, in the western portion of the temple precinct. It’s a major attraction in Bangkok.
Wat Benchamabophit
A Buddhist temple called Wat Benchamabophit is located in Bangkok, Thailand’s Dusit neighborhood. One other name for it is the “Marble Temple”. It’ll start drawing tourists as well. UNESCO suggested Wat Benchamabophit for inclusion on the List of the World’s Cultural and Natural Heritage of Humanity in 2005.
We ate dinner in Bangkok’s tallest skyscraper, which offers a 360-degree panorama of the city, when nightfall arrived. It was an unusual encounter.
Baiyoke Tower 2
The 88-story, 309-meter (1,014-foot) Baiyoke Tower II (Thai: อาคารใบหยก 2, RTGS: Akhan Baiyok Song, pronounced [ʔāː.kʰāːn bāj.jòk sɔƌːϋ]) skyscraper hotel located at 222 Ratchaprarop Road in Bangkok, Thailand’s Ratchathewi District. After Magnolias Waterfront Residences at ICONSIAM and MahaNakhon, it is the city’s third-tallest finished structure. The structure includes the seventh-tallest hotel in the world and the tallest hotel in Southeast Asia, the Baiyoke Sky Hotel. The building is 328.4 meters (1,077 feet) tall with the antenna included. It has a public observatory on the 77th floor, a bar called “Roof Top Bar & Music Lounge” on the 83rd floor, a 360-degree rotating roof deck on the 84th floor (309 meters), and 673 guest rooms with the hotel.

We made the most of our final day of a 12-day trip to Bangkok by visiting Lumphini Park and the most well-known temples, Wat Arun, Wat Phra, Wat Suthat, and Wat Pho. We dined aboard a magnificent cruise ship in the evening, enjoying breathtaking views of the city at night.
Lumphini Park
Lumphini Park, also known as Lumpini or Lumpinee, is a 360 rai (57.6-hectare (142-acre)) park in Bangkok, Thailand. It is pronounced [sɔan lūm.pʰī.nīː] in Thai. In addition to playgrounds, trees, and uncommon open space in the Thai capital, the park has an artificial lake with boat rentals available. Early in the morning and late at night, joggers frequent the paths that circumnavigate the park, which span over 2.5 kilometers. Riding a bicycle is officially only allowed during the day, from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. The park is smoke-free for everyone. Dogs are not permitted, with the exception of licensed guide dogs. Considered to be the first public park in Bangkok and Thailand is Lumphini Park.

Wat Arun
In the Bangkok Yai district of Bangkok, Thailand, there is a Buddhist temple called Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan (Thai: วัดอรุณราชวราราม ราชวรมหาวิหาร). It is located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River on Thonburi. The Hindu god Aruṇa, who is frequently represented as the sun’s radiations, is the source of the temple’s name. One of Thailand’s most well-known landmarks is Wat Arun.The temple’s characteristic prang (spire) was constructed in the early 19th century under the reigns of Rama II and Rama III, despite the fact that it has been there since at least the 17th century.

Wat Phra Kaeo
Known in English as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and officially as Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram,[a], Wat Phra Kaew (Thai: วัดพระแก้ว, RTGS: Wat Phra Kaeo, pronounced [wát.pʰráʔ.kɛ̂ːw) is considered the most revered Buddhist temple in Thailand. The complex is made up of several structures located within the Grand Palace’s grounds in Bangkok’s historic district. The Emerald Buddha statue, revered as the nation’s palladium, is kept there.Rama I, the first monarch of the Chakri dynasty, gave the order to start building the temple in 1783. Since then, in an effort to elevate the dynasty and create religious merit, each succeeding monarch has personally contributed to the addition, renovation, and decoration of the temple during their reigns.

Wat Suthat
Located in Bangkok in Thailand, Wat Suthat Thepwararam is a Buddhist temple with the Thai pronunciation [wát su.tʰát tʰêːp.pʰá.wáʔ.raː.raːm] (วัดสุทัศนเทพวราราม). It is a first-class royal temple, one of 10 in Bangkok (there are 23 in Thailand). King Rama I started construction in 1807. Originally placed in a combretum lumber, it was known as “Wat Maha Sutt Hawat” (วัดมหาสุทธาวาส). King Rama II assisted in carving the wooden doors and carried out more construction and decorations, but the temple was not finished before King Rama III’s reign in 1847 or 1848. The Buddha image Phra Sri Sakyamuni (Thai: พระศรีศากยมุนี; RTGS: Phra Si Sakkayamuni) was relocated in the same name Province and is housed in this temple.

Wat Pho
First Class Royal Temple Wat Pho is a Buddhist temple situated south of the Royal Palace in the heart of old Bangkok. Wat Photharam might have been established in the seventeenth century, as it was previously recorded in the Ayutthaya Chronicle, written during the reign of Phra Petracha. In order to establish Bangkok as his new capital, King Rama I expanded and rebuilt the temple, giving it its current name. This royal temple was enlarged and rebuilt by all the other Chakri rulers.

Asiatique The Riverfront
Asiatique: Bangkok, Thailand’s Riverfront is a sizable outdoor shopping center. It is located on the site of the East Asiatic Company’s old docks and faces Charoen Krung Road and the Chao Phraya River. After the land was extensively renovated, the facility opened in 2012.Founded in 1897, the East Asiatic Company, located in Denmark, was one of numerous Western companies trading with Siam at the time. The corporation possessed port facilities on the Chao Phraya, including a number of warehouses, the oldest of which dates back to 1907. After the port shut down in 1947, the buildings were abandoned. The real estate firm TCC Land declared in May 2011 that it would rehabilitate the property and turn it into Asiatique The Riverfront, a retail and entertainment complex.
