Vall del Madriu Perafita Claror
The Vall del Madriu Perafita Claror, included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, extends in the southeast of Andorra over the municipalities of Encamp, Escaldes-Engordany, Andorra la Vella and Sant Julià de Lòria. Lake Engolasters
The snow-covered Pyrenees mountain ranges create a drainage basin that drains the deep blue lake water. Near the lake’s edge, the valley created by the rivers that drain the catchment offers a picturesque view of verdant meadows and a dense pine forest. The Madriu and East Valira rivers provide the lake with its water. The power station close to Encamp village uses the water stored in the reservoir to produce hydroelectric power. The highest peak in the principality of Andorra is Coma Pedrosa, which is 2,943 meters (9,656 feet) high. The 650 meters of climbing from Arinsal to Camp de Refuge are rated as moderate, while the final 862 meters are rated as severe. On the slopes are several alpine lakes and tarns, most famously Estanys de Baiau over the Spanish border on the western slopes. The town of Arinsal, La Massana, is the closest. In the past, the mountain gave Andorra enough protection from attacks. The mountain is now a component of the national park known as Parc Natural Comunal de les Valls del Comapedrosa.

Estanys de Tristaina
Three mountain lakes known as the Estanys de Tristaina are located near the French border in the northern Andorran municipality and ski region of Ordino. The three lakes are connected by little streams and supplied by meltwater from unidentified springs. The Valira river runs from the group of three lakes to Spain in a north-south direction. At 2,876 meters, the Pic de Tristaina peak is the highest point in the lake region.

Sant Joan de Caselles
In the Andorran town of Canillo sits a Romanesque church dedicated to Saint Joan de Caselles. It has the designation of a cultural monument under the 2003 statute. The spire has a Lombard design. Within is an original wall painting from the middle of the 12th century, with a stucco majestas domini sitting enthroned in the center. The altar features an essay by masters Miquel Ramells and Gui Borgonyó honoring John the Evangelist, written in the first part of the 16th century.

Casa d’Areny Plandolit
Starting in 1613, the manor was built in the manner of an aristocratic mansion, and it was finished in 1633. During the 16th and 19th centuries, the Areny-Plandolits family played a significant role in Andorra’s metallurgical sector and shaped the nation’s history. Historical documents list Guillem Areny Vidal as the initial owner. Guillem Areny Torres was a major food supplier to the Spanish Navy in the 17th century. In 1849, the facade’s balconies were added.The Andorran government used the estate as a national auditorium until the 1950s. The home’s gardens are unlike any in Andorra. It was the first garden designed to showcase exclusively natural plants. The grounds were intended to house a hotel at the start of the 20th century, but before construction was completed, it was decided to convert it into the Andorran Museum of Natural Sciences. On the same plot of land, there are currently two museum complexes.

The Mirador del Quer, also known as the Mirador de Canillo viewpoint, is a 20-meter walkway. Of that length, 8 meters are on solid ground, and the remaining 12 seem to extend into the surrounding landscape. This portion of the walkway consists of a suspended platform that gives the impression that you are floating above the valley. Not only will the atmosphere here evoke a sense of majesty akin to ruling the Pyrenees, but a portion of the walkway is composed of clear glass, intensifying the impression of altitude. It’s also significant that this component was installed in 2016.
